I created Nourish Your Garden because it's what I needed years ago.

I was living in such anguish, worried about not getting enough done in a day, shaming myself for not trying harder. I kept trying to finish routines that weren’t actually supporting me, they were just providing me with “busy work” to feel like I was chipping away at building success.

I tried so hard I thought something was wrong with me, that I was the one who couldn’t “get my life together.”

If everyone had figured it out, why couldn’t I?

When I first became aware of my “garden” I realized what I was looking at was weeds.

What am I meant to do with all this self-doubt, frustration, and judgment?

 How am I supposed to grow a beautiful garden when I’m looking at all these weeds that don’t serve me?

I realized my whole life I had been cultivating this mindset of shaming myself to do better, punishing myself when I didn’t meet my high expectations, and forcing my body to keep hustling even when it was begging for rest. Over time, this mindset became so ingrained in my life, it felt normal. 

I was never really taught the right tools to support myself, to regulate my big emotions, and support myself with structure. It felt safer and easier to give up, to self-deprecate, to blame it on myself.

When I first studied neuroscience and learned about my nervous system, I realized all that shame and pressure was actually taking a toll on my body. My body didn’t feel safe to change or grow, especially when I was not giving myself any compassion as I was trying to make these changes. The pressure kept me in fight-or-flight, never really allowing my body to fully relax into ease.

I realized deep down, I didn’t trust myself to make these changes and to show up consistently. This shame was driving the bus and it was keeping me from realizing the life I wanted. My self-talk was tearing me down before I could even show up for myself.

I realized my body was calling for gentleness, my soul was calling for understanding.

I designed NYG with the neuroscience in mind, knowing that showing up for myself through repetition daily, would be the most supportive in creating the neural pathways that would lead to peace, trust, and ease.
